Keep The Lights On
Keep The Lights On is an initiative designed to provide core funding for our organization. As a Not For Profit, funding is limited and restricted. Most grants are incredibly specific about funding programming specifically. But how can we continue to provide stellar programming if we can't keep the lights on and the doors open?
How Your Donation Helps:
• Paying rent at our Centre for Social Justice & Inclusion
• Covering other operating costs like insurance and utility bills
• Paying centre staff
• Create a prudent reserve so we're prepared for the unexpected
Good Food Box
The Good Food Box program aims to combat food insecurity by providing nutritious and culturally relevant food boxes to Black families in Barrie. Each box is filled with fresh produce, staple foods, and recipes to help families prepare healthy meals. Your donation ensures that everyone in our community has access to the healthy food they need to thrive.

• Packaging and distributing food boxes
• Creating and sharing healthy recipes
• Supporting local farmers and food producers
Mutual Aid
Mutual Aid is a community-driven initiative that fosters solidarity and support among Black/racialized 2SLGTBQI+ residents in Simcoe County. This fund allows members to help one another during times of need, whether it’s for unexpected medical expenses, emergency housing, or other urgent needs. Your donation empowers our community to support each other and ensure that no one is left behind.

• Providing temporary housing assistance
• Addressing urgent financial needs
• Strengthening community bonds through collective support
Newcomers Fund
The Newcomers Fund is dedicated to supporting Black 2SLGBTQIA+ newcomers to Barrie, Ontario, as they settle into their new community. This initiative provides funding for programs to support essential needs such as housing, transportation, education, and job placement services. By contributing to the Newcomers Fund, you help ensure that every newcomer has the opportunity to thrive and build a better future in our community.
